Summer Lessons

Lesson Package

Time

30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute lesson (individually scheduled)

Weeks

There are six weeks of lessons available:

  • Students may register for 3, 4, 5, or 6 lessons
  • Evaluations will be on a sign-up basis
  • Groups will meet every week, beginning June 9th and ending July 28th.

Dates

Starts: June 9th                                                    Ends: Week of July 28th

No group lessons: Week of July 13                            No Tots or Babes Classes: July 7, July 14

Teachers may start private lessons the week of June 1st or teach during weeks off to accommodate for summer schedules as needed.

Ages

Beginner (3 ½ years of age with appropriate Violin for Tots experience ) to Advanced | Beginners may start at age 4 without previous Violin for Tots experience

For 4/5 weeks, specific amount will be billed. Please contact the music office if you need to know the exact amounts prior to registration. | $10.00 registration fee per child or $25.00 per family maximum | *All discounts will be applied after registration. Group Classes

Automatic registration into group lessons with private lesson registration

Strings

  • Beginner through Elementary Levels (2nd grade and down): Tuesday, 10:15-11:00 a.m.
  • Intermediate Levels: 3rd grade +: Tuesday, 11:00-11:45 a.m.
  • Intermediate through Advanced: | Wednesday, 4:30-5:15 p.m. 

Piano

  • Beginner: Tuesday, 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.
  • Elementary Level: Tuesday, 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.
  • Intermediate (Middle School and some early high school—placed by teacher): Tuesday, 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.
  • Intermediate through Advanced:  Tuesday, 12:30-1:00 p.m.

Winds & Brass

Wednesday, 5:30-6:00 p.m.

Ages

3 ½ years (when completed with Tots) and up

Please Note: Students may attend group lessons every week on the summer calendar, even if they sign up for only 3, 4, or 5 lessons.

Other Financial Details

Register by April 28: Registration Fee Waived May 15: Summer Registration closed (no refunds after this point if payments have been made) July 1: Pay the entire summer bill in full and receive a 5% discount OR pay half by July 1, and the balance by August 1.

Music for Babes

A fun and interactive class for mothers and babies featuring fundamentals of movement in the context of music. Babies are also aurally and visually connected to the melodic line and rhythms. Mothers will enjoy this special time to bond with their child.

TIME: Tuesday, 11:00-11:30 a.m.

AGES: 0-2 years of age

FEE: $45

WEEKS: Begins June 9th | Last class July 28th | No class June 30th or July 14th

Babies are invited to register for 1 week of Spectacular Music Camp

Violin for Tots

A four semester program designed to teach toddlers the basic skills of violin playing in a fun and interactive environment. A few semesters or the entire four semester program is advisable prior to formal violin instruction.

TIME: Tuesdays, at 11:30 a.m. -12:15 p.m.

 

AGES: 2-4 years of age

LOCATION: Music Hall (groups will split out for most of the time)

FEE: $50

WEEKS: Begins June 9th | Last class July 29th| No class June 30th or July 14th

Fundraising Opportunities

Card Craze

(Required minimum sales/donation amount school-wide)
Students are required to sell a minimum number of coupon/discount cards in the community. Once the minimum is reached, students will receive 50% back from each card sold over the minimum.
Proceeds go to students and FBMS

Restaurant

Fundraisers
FBMS hosts monthly "fundraiser nights" at local restaurants. Families are encouraged to attend and invite friends to create more business at the restaurant, and thus generate more profit for the music school.
Proceeds go to operational and resource costs, keeping FBMS tuition prices low

Practice-a-thon

Twice a year, students get sponsors in the community to sponsor them an amount of money (usually 5-10 cents) per hour that the child practices in a two-four week period. Sponsors can pledge a donation and FBMS will take care of collecting the promised donation, or sponsors can do a direct donation.

Farmer's Market

Families can sign up to play at and promote FBMS at various Farmer's Markets throughout SE Wisconsin. FBMS sets up the opportunities and families are asked to volunteer for the dates that work best for them.

Performances

Families can sign up for a once-a-month 60-min performance at Village at the Falls. Teachers coordinate the opportunity for students.
